Controversial Author Launches Online African American Health Community

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 29, 2008 -- Makeisha Lee, a health columnist and nutritional advisor in the field of alternative health, has launched a massive movement encouraging the African American community to get involved and take control over their personal health affairs.

She is best known as the author of the controversial book entitled, "Why Black People Can't Lose Weight". Written with a Bill Cosby style of writing, the book addresses common lies and misconceptions within the African American community about weight loss and obesity.

Most recently, she has launched a new web site, BlackHealth.org - the first ever social network pertaining to Black health. Free to join, the site allows health conscious individuals to interact with each other to discuss relevant issues that affect African Americans. Users can read and post news, blogs, videos and more.

Lee comments, "People are looking for authentic health solutions and when they find something that works for them, they also want the sense of community to keep them accountable. BlackHealth.org is the forum for which they can accomplish this."

In addition to authoring publications and health columns, Lee also provides a service called Cleanse Formula (www.cleanseformula.com), which delivers a powerful and efficient health program tailored to suit individuals' needs. She is available to speak on a wide range of topics, as well as teaching the African American community how to create wealth from investing in their health.
