Make Money Online in 2008 - Advice

Probably the single greatest epiphany I've ever experienced was when my brain finally 'clicked' and I thought: "Ok, so I can do all this work and get paid once, or do the work one time and get paid [residually] over and over again." I mean, it sounds logical, right?

Then why do so many people never even take their first step toward earning some residual commissions to at least pay their gas bill each month? My best guess would be that they simply just don't know where to look!

Tip #1: Be Resourceful!

It's obvious that every company in the world needs sales to stay in business, right? Then wouldn't it make complete sense that companies would pay you if you referred them business? Of course!

Lucky for you, more and more companies are now offering affiliate programs. There are literally 100,000's and some even pay 100% of the whole sale price!

At the time of this writing (Jan. 2008), there are a few types of affiliate programs that you'll typically see.

? Pay-Per-Sale (1-100%...Recurring, etc...) ? Pay-Per-Lead (They don't even have to buy anything!) ? Pay-Per-Action (Totally depends on that particular affiliate program)

The real beauty of affiliate marketing is that it's such a win-win for both parties involved. You don't need to have any products of your own because [merchants] have plenty of products for you to choose from already. Whether you are interested in golf, sewing, sports, music, their is an affiliate program in your field of interest.

I'll put it bluntly: You have endless opportunities to make money on the internet. Please re-read that one more time so it really sinks in.

As a newbie yourself, the best way to start looking out for opportunities is to just continue surfing the websites you normally would, but keeping an eye out for an "affiliates" link somewhere on the home page from now on. It is there you can find the details for a particular affiliate program (i.e. how much they will pay you).

When you enroll with an affiliate program (always free), you are given a unique affiliate link that connects you to the sale. The whole system is actually pretty efficient. In your affiliate members panel, you can track how many clicks you received and how many resulted in sales.

The goal is to basically:

- Get your link clicked on as much as humanly possible. - Maximize the percentage of people who complete the action for what you get paid for.

As far as quitting your day job goes, obviously programs that pay residually will be smarter for you to focus on. And even more obviously, the only way it will happen is if you actually do something about it.
