Elizabeth Gordon Named President of New GSU Marketing Alumni Society

Atlanta, GA (PRWeb) March 14, 2007 -- Elizabeth Gordon, President of The Flourishing Business™, an Atlanta-based business advisory firm, was named the president of the newly formed Georgia State University (GSU) Marketing Alumni Society.

The GSU Marketing Alumni Society, a not for profit organization, was founded in January of 2007 by a diverse group including Fatima Mehdikarimi, Jeff Langford and Elizabeth Gordon, who are all GSU Marketing alums, Matthew Booth, a current GSU marketing student, Dr. Ed Rigdon, a GSU marketing professor and head of the Marketing Department, and Ken Bernhardt, a Regents Professor in GSU's marketing department.

Elizabeth, who graduated with a master's degree in Marketing from Georgia State in May of 2005, was chosen as the founding leader of the group because as a business advisor to entrepreneurs, she is an expert at turning a vision for a startup organization into reality. Her company, The Flourishing Business™, specializes in working with high growth startups who want to augment their internal expertise with that of seasoned business advisors who can help with strategy and execution. Gordon will bring her insight and wisdom, gained from building both her own company as well as helping her many clients build their organizations into flourishing businesses, to the table for the GSU Marketing Alumni Society.

The newly elected president of the GSU Marketing Alumni Society, Elizabeth Gordon, said, "Having industry contacts and continuing your education by joining a group in your professional field, are two of the best ways to learn and get ahead in today's dynamic business world. We're excited to reunite marketing alumni from throughout Atlanta for our first ever meeting of the GSU Marketing Alumni Society. And we couldn't be happier to have Tad Hutcheson, AirTran Airway's Vice President of Marketing and Sales, as our first guest speaker to share with the group the critical role creative and innovative marketing has played in the company's success."

The first meeting of the GSU Marketing Alumni Society will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the Macquarium located at 1800 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30309. This first meeting of the newly formed GSU Marketing Alumni Society will be held under the sponsorship of the Georgia State University Alumni Association and the Department of Marketing.
